Catharsis, the whole of this project is very much inspired by Joni Mitchell’s Blue, and her ability to unveil yet still be poetic. This song is written from the perspective of imagining what it is to pour all these feelings onto the page and into song, as Joni does in Blue, whilst maintaining craft and artistry. This being the most ‘rapper’ esque song on the album, it’s a homage to writers of all mediums. It’s a song I really want to make emotional & lyrical sense.

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
